Putting the pedal …

… to the metal.

After almost 2 weeks of not sewing, I came home to a basket full of orders waiting to be filled. I hit Fabric Depot in Portland and managed to purchase about 15 yards of fabric for upcoming projects/orders. Sadly, I forgot to take a photo before I started cutting away. So …. you’ll just have to keep checking in here to see what I’ve been creating.

Last week I got right back in the swing of things, sewing 4 aprons and 2 totes. The aprons are for a shop in Rigby, Idaho called Sugar Snap Blossoms. It sounds adorable and I was so tickled to be asked to put some of my items up in her shop.

Here’s what I sent on its way today:

Little Girls “Chloe” Apron(s)

Womens “Isabella” Apron ~
I sent off two identical aprons … I fell in love with the green floral/viney fabric and paired with the fuchsia I know it’s a bit crazy, but I hope someone else finds it as fun and whimsical as I did.

Next on the list was two Etsy orders for Everyday Hobo Totes:

I LOVE this one! Brown and orange are quickly becoming a favorite color combination for me … I’ve got my first quilt started and it’s all brown and orange prints.

And a new feature (for an additional charge 😉 … an interior zippered pocket. This customer had requested this option on the first tote she ordered from me. I’m so glad I have people “push” me to try something new. Apparently she liked her first tote because she quickly ordered up another :). I hope she likes this one as much as I do!

And that was the end of last week’s marathon sewing. Thankfully the two week break re-charged my batteries and I was itching to get back at it … because I’ve got A LOT of work the next few weeks. ((This week my goal is 3 totes, 1 apron and several headbands)) So stay tuned for more projects and announcements in the coming days and weeks!

Happy Creating!

  1. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the brown and orange tote. Can you make one just like it for me. I’m serious. No, really, I want one.
And I too like that viney fabric, that first apron is adorable!

  2. andrea says:

    I LOVE that brown tote!

  3. I love it, too! But I guess that’s because I did help in choosing the patterns since it’s my purse. :)

I can’t wait until I can justify another purse purchase from you…maybe by Christmas?

  4. I really love that orange and brown too! So cute. You are so productive…I can’t believe how much you can get done. I can average maybe one or two things each week, but that’s it!

Also I’m curious to see how you like the anthropologie knock-off top. It didn’t turn out as similar as I thought, but I think it’s mostly because of the sleeves.

    What’s your next clothing project?
Love catching up with you as usual.

  5. It’s so cool that real live stores are asking for your stuff. Not that Etsy isn’t a real store but you know what I mean.
Cute stuff as usual and cute little hangers too. I recognize those. :)
