"Adventure Bag"

As part of Celebrate the Boy on ‘Made by Rae‘ and ‘Made‘ there were tons of great tutorials and I was introduced to several new blog reads.

One of my favorites, was Noodlehead. Seriously, with a blog name like that, how could it not be fun, fun, fun? I’m loving Anna’s new creative space and may just have to copy her color palette. This post, on Made, came at the perfect time. I needed a cool boy present for an upcoming birthday party AND I happened to have a pair of my husbands old pants on hand.

It turns out, after a bit of reading … that a different tutorial would work a bit better with the cargo pants I had to work with.

So … combine Noodlehead’s tutorial for a ‘Messenger Bag from Cargo Pants‘ and one afternoon of Kindergarten and you’ve got yourself, ‘An Adventure Bag’ (at least that is what the new owner is calling it :D).

I love the way it turned out and can’t wait to make another … and to try the drawstring bag made from old khakis. Seriously cute stuff.

And even cuter? This was for a ‘green’ party. Not green as in re-cycle/go green party, just the color green. So I used that as my fabric inspiration, but then I really did love that it is also a ‘go green’ gift too since I up-cycled the pants.

Happy Creating!

Stay tuned for some robot inspiration and the winner announcement Thursday morning!
