Spring Crafting …

So, here are some Spring/Easter crafts that caught my eye recently that I have made/am making or would like to make …

“Grow your own wheatgrass” …
Grass shooters here we come. Or … not. We started our grass yesterday and I’m hoping it’ll be nice and tall, filling the containers, just in time for Easter. It should make an adorable centerpiece.

Cost: $3.50
($1.00 for wheat and $2.50 for potting soil … I used a bowl and planter we already had.)
Time Investment: 10 – 15 minutes

“Happy Easter” Shadow Box
Lucky for me I stocked up on some IKEA Ribba frames while in Seattle. I’m planning to make this one today or tomorrow. I’m going to use my butterfly punch (although I love the bunny I think it falls into the un-necessary category … big time) and make it say Happy Spring. That way I can use it for several months :).

Cost: $5.00
($5.00 Frame … I’m using scrap booking supplies from my stash for the rest.)
Time Investment: 30 minutes

“Crafty Yarn Egg Decor”
I found a similar craft a few weeks ago and bookmarked it, but I love the size of these eggs and the yarn color choices.

Cost: Free … Maybe
(We have balloons & glue and I have plenty of yarn in my stash, but JoAnns has these new yarns that would be scrumptious.)
Time Investment: unknown

Egg Pockets” …
I think these little pockets are adorable. I’m not sure what I would use them for, but I think I should make a few.

Cost: Free … Maybe
(I have all the materials on hand, but if you don’t, they sell kits in their Etsy shop.)
Time Investment: unknown

And my new favorite spring/Easter craft …

Peeps Garland” …
I saw this on Monday … love at first sight. I used to really, really, really love Peeps. Now not so much, but getting to enjoy them without having to eat them = perfection. Kelly pointed out that she does not believe the bunnies are true Peeps … that they should only make the chicks. I agree, the chicks are the original, but the bunnies make a much cuter garland :).

Cost: $2.50
(I didn’t have yellow felt (it’s on sale right now for $2.49/yd at JoAnns and you need less than 1/2yd. I also bought brown fabric paint (also on sale right now).)
Time Investment: 1 1/2 hours
