Patriotic sewing …

Well I managed to finish 3 of the 4 patriotic sewing projects I had planned … my Spring Ruffle Top (in navy blue/white seersucker) will have to wait until later this week or next.

Project 1 -Table Runner

Thanks to Jodi’s post, I knew I had to add this to my list. I got it done early … but then Jodi had to go and list another red/white/blue jelly roll that I loved even more. So my first runner got sent off to the bestie as a little 4th of July surprise. I have yet to take a picture of my new runner, but I love it.

Project 2 – Abraham Lincoln shirt for E
Since Dana posted this freezer paper/stencil tutorial back in February, I’ve wanted to give this a try … specifically I wanted an “Abraham Lincolnson” shirt for my son. After all their birthdays are close and well, I just like Abe.

And look, 2 years ago I had the chance to meet him!

{Me, Abe, SIL Julie, Bethany}

Note: I love the way the stencil turned out. Too bad a size S (6-8) shirt from Hobby Lobby fits more like a super long 5T?!? Oh well, I guess that’s what you get for $1.50.

Project 3 – Pillowcase dress

In early summer I stumbled upon some adorable Hello Kitty fabric in a red/white/blue print. Well my bestie happens to love Hello Kitty. So my pseud-niece *needed* a dress from said fabric. Too cute!

Happy Creating!
