Welcome to the party …

Hi! Come on in … notice the decorations (look up) … yeah, I went all out for you guys!

Okay now, grab an iced tea and a cupcake. Sit yourself down on this lovely quilt under the shade tree. Are you comfy? Great …

Let me start our little virtual soiree by introducing you to a few of our guests (tee-hee). It seems that I’ve taken quite a liking to necklaces in the past year and these lovely ladies have been there when I needed them most, to fill a girls urge to accessorize.

** Oh one more thing … I hope you checked your purses at the door. Otherwise you can kiss this month’s budget good bye. **

First up, my long standing and faithful daily friends, my two Lisa Leonard Designs necklaces.

The first one I received in my stocking a few Christmas’ ago from my husband. A very sweet little surprise … especially since we weren’t exchanging gifts that year. These two hearts make me smile.

The second was also gifted to be as a birthday present 2 years ago. My sweet niece in law know how much I love Lisa’s work (and now owns a few pieces herself) and went above and beyond and bought me the Open Circle necklace inscribed with the words “The joy of the Lord is my hope.” Now I’m not going to turn into a blubbering fool at my own party, but let me just say this has become my ‘mantra’ over the last six years as we’ve struggled to have another child. I love this necklace and wear it a lot.

I can’t even tell you how many other pieces of Lisa’s are on my wish list … it would be just about every item in her shop. And to top it off, her blogging is an almost daily (which totally impresses me) snapshot (literally) of real life from a mama’s big hearted perspective.

Next I’d like you to meet my two flower cuties made by Erin of The Silver Dog. I can’t even remember how I found this first necklace, it was probably on Etsy’s front page (Erin makes it there quite a lot). However I found her, I knew I ‘needed’ her. I’m not a very splashy girl, especially with my clothing, but I love a fun un-expected punch of color or design and I’m trying to add a little more to jazz up my mommy outfits. Plus I jumped on the ‘red & aqua’ bandwagon as quick as most and am still holding on …

I’d purchased several of Erin‘s necklaces as gifts for friends and family and often found myself coming back to this second necklace. A little ‘trading’ around the holidays and it soon was hanging from my neck too.

It matches my new business cards and banners pretty well … destiny I tell ya. But I think I could still use a few more items like …

Now this next gal may not need much of an introduction … you see I can probably just give you a glance and you’ll know exactly who she was made by. Yes, yes, yes, I finally have my very own Allora Handmade necklace after almost a year of holding back.

It’s as beautiful as Jessica‘s (the hands behind Allora Handmade) pictures are, it’s surprisingly light and I’ve already gotten so many compliments on it. I love how it can dress up a t-shirt, but doesn’t look out of place with a party dress. Isn’t that the perfect accessory? Again, like all the other shops I’ve mentioned, I have quite the wish list going …

And just when I thought I might be done introducing … up popped this adorable necklace that I just could not resist. Meet Genevieve from Nest Pretty Things. Isn’t she a doll? I love the simplicity and again it’s the photos that caught my eye (and a sweet little discount) and sold me.

Tamar (owner of Nest Pretty Things) does beautiful work and shows that off in her photos. I’m still holding out for a few more pieces …

The best news?
I’ve got giveaways coming up this week from a couple of the artists behind these lovely ‘ladies.’ We’ll sit down and chat one on one with them and get to know them a little bit better.

Is it weird that I referred to inanimate objects as people through out this post? Did you get the difference? I’m not even sure if I kept it straight.

Thanks for hanging around … you better go re-fill your tea and meet me back here tomorrow.

Happy Creating!

P.S. I’d love to hear about any other ‘lovely ladies’ I might need to be introduced to ;).
