Introducing Decorchick! and an exclusive tote …

Through the wonderful world of Twitter, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Emily of Decorchick! I’m not sure what it was about her snippets of life in 140 characters or less … but she sure grabbed my attention (and a few others … her blog is quickly growing).

Decorchick!

Along with getting to know Emily on Twitter, I’ve also had the pleasure of sponsoring her blog and having her as a wonderful customer!

Want to see her latest purchase? A custom “Everyday Hobo” Tote in the scrumptious orange/aqua color palette. I loved her fabric choices so much I bought enough to make two … and then let her choose which she liked best.

Here’s the one she picked, accented with a creamy white ruffle & detachable flower::

And because I knew you guys would enjoy Emily and her blog as much as I do, I asked her a few questions so you could get to know her better.

I’m a stay at home mom, have an incredible husband, an adorable little 13 month old girl, 2 awesome step-children, and couldn’t ask for a better life. Before I was able to quit my job and stay home, I was a Paralegal for about 8 years, and started right out of high school. I love God and love contemporary Christian music. I love to dream up new ideas for our home while I’m at home all day playing with our little girl. I love to cook and bake, have a big (and slightly scary) addiction to makeup, and to blogging. :)

{Dollar Store Hurricanes … Seriously? Seriously.}

Have you always loved decorating? What part is your favorite … the planning, the preparation, the actual work or admiring it all when it’s done?

I have always loved it, but in a different way. Before my life changed with home decor blogs, I would just buy stuff at retail and not put any real detail or effort into anything. Now, I have a hard time buying anything full price unless it’s a major purchase and something we will have a long time. I always think now that I can just make it or find it at the thrift store! I think my favorite part of decorating is the actual work. Planning can be tough, especially if you are working with a difficult space and are indecisive like I am. I have found that I enjoy the bigger projects the best, like where lots of painting and molding are involved. :) I hate prepping…ick! Then of course I love to admire it when everything is all done. :)

{Mmmmm … Look at this pantry … love it!}

Favorite Color Combination?

Aqua and Orange
Red and Turquoise
Black and White

Yes, I’m very versatile. :)

Favorite piece of clothing you’re looking forward to wearing this fall?

Oh someone please come and rescue me and take me shopping for new Fall clothes! I feel so out of touch with fashion lately (I used to dress really cute when I worked), because all I want to buy now is stuff for the house. So to answer your question, and if I’m going to give you an honest answer, I’d have to say I’m looking forward to my yoga pants and sweatshirts. :) Sad, I know.

Now … what about that second bag I made?

The one I’m now calling, The “Everyday Decorchick” Tote … well I thought it would be fun to offer it exclusively on the blog.

Here she is … rockin‘ a teal blue ruffle and detachable flower pin, just like Emily’s version.
