Money for nothing …

… and your kicks for free.

What? That’s NOT how the song goes? How many of you are too young to even know what song I’m referencing?

Okay, silly title, but really it fits. And guess what? It has nothing to do with sewing ;).

I just wanted to share with my favorite readers, how you could get a head start on your Christmas shopping by earning ‘money for (almost) nothing.’ A few years ago I heard about a site called, Swagbucks. And I’m guessing you have too. BUT, have you tried it?!? I was hesitant too, thinking spam, tons of e-mails and viruses (shudder). I even used one of my ‘extra’ e-mail accounts to be safe :). But I took a chance and have had no regrets. I even convinced my husband to play along too.

So how does it work?
There are several ways to earn Swagbucks, which you can read on their site, but the main way is with searching. Instead of using Google, I simply started using Swagbucks (which also utilizes google) with their easy to install toolbar. Every so often (say 1 in 10searches, sometimes more and sometimes less) you are awarded various denominations of Swagbucks. Once we earn 450 (really? 450? I know, I know, but honest, it doesn’t take long) we cash in for a $5 GC. But you can redeem your Swagbucks for all sorts of things. I’ve bought Starbucks GC’s, GC’s and primarily Amazon GC’s.

Let your gift cards stack up and mama can buy herself a new pair of shoes (the kicks) for free (well not counting my time searching, LOL) like these::

Cute, no? I thought they would be fun for fall :).

Aside from the what I spent on the above, my husband and I are saving our Amazon gift cards to help make a nice dent in our Christmas shopping. We even thought of including a gift tag that says, “Merry Christmas, your present didn’t cost us a dime, just a bit of time.” Yes, we’re so clever.

But really, by installing the Swagbucks toolbar on all three of our computers, we’ve been able to earn more than $100 in gift cards this year.

Want to get a start saving for your holiday shopping, just by searching?

Click here, to sign up as one of my friends. Then I earn along with you (up to 100 Swagbucks) and then you can refer friends too.

What do you think? Want to get money for (almost) nothing and kicks for free? ;).

Happy Creating!

P.S. I’m still sick. BLEH! Pardon the rambling in this post, any part of it that doesn’t make sense and the fact that it isn’t sewing related. Sadly, there isn’t much of that going on … boo!
