Pinwheel, Pinwheel … spinning around …

… look at my pinwheel and see what I found.

{Is anyone else singing along?}

It’s Monday again {which I happen to love} … so, how was your weekend? I hope it was as lovely as mine. Two full days of family time and no commitments. We even stayed home from church yesterday due to the little’s tummy. I had two wonderfully long naps {snuggled under a quilt in our cold air conditioned room}, catch up sewing and FUN sewing, a yummy dinner and our local Farmer’s market … along with lots of family time.

Waking up today with all my orders caught up … lovely.

Checking my mail and finding a special bundle of fabric … lovely.

Fabric I purchased to start a new quilt. Fabric I immediately took photos of because I want to share it with you and INVITE you to quilt along with me in August.

Pinwheels in the Park

The quilt::
Free pattern written by Rachel Measham-Pywell from Four Wise Monkeys for Sew, Mama, Sew!

The fabric::
I asked Kerri to put together a bundle of 6 aqua/blue fat quarters and 6 pink/red quarters from her lovely shop, Sew Deerly Loved, to create my quilt from.

The deets::
Kerri wrote me back and told me that she’d love to put together a bundle for me and she thought she might want to make this quilt too. So, I twisted her arm and talked her into ‘quilting along’ with me in August. We’re both sharing with our blog readers in case you want to join us. We’re talking LOW PRESSURE here people. But it’s always nice to have a little bit of a time line and accountability for a project right?!? That way your quilt doesn’t take a year or more to finish {eh hem, I don’t know anything about that}!

Quilt Along Schedule:
August 1-7 ~ Cut Fabric/Blocks
August 8-14 ~ Sew Blocks
August 15-21 ~ Finish up blocks & sew quilt top
August 22-31 ~ Quilt & Bind

Sew … what do you think? Want to make a sweet summer quilt in August? Or maybe knock out a Christmas present before Fall? Let us know if you’re joining in. I’ll start a flickr group where we’d love to see your progress & final quilts {or, you can just go look at Kerri & I’s quilts if no one else join us :D}.

** {eta} If you want to join in … you can get started by printing and reading through the pattern linked above. This gives you fabric requirements and all the ‘how-to’s’ for making this quilt. Kerri & I won’t be posting on how to make the quilt {as the pattern already does that}, but rather showing you our progress and cheering you along in yours.**
