{Zig Zag} Quilt

Well, it seems I’m on a quilt kick … so let’s keep it going a bit longer.

As I’ve shared several times {’cause I’m kinda excited about it}, my niece is pregnant … which means very soon {like we’re talking days} I’m going to have a GREAT niece.

And if you know me, well you know that I kinda like babies. A lot. I’ve kinda wanted another of my own for years now … but since that hasn’t been His timing yet, I have to love on those around me.

One way I’m lovin’ on this little one already is by helping her mama create her nursery.

This was the inspiration board my niece originally sent me::

Days later I found this PERFECT fabric bundle from Fabric Worm::

My niece picked this quilt pattern::

Here is what we ended up with {modified to create a larger quilt}::

Hello Daisy Girl!

Isn’t it fun?

I did straight line quilting on both sides of the zig zag seam. The solids are all from Kona {white, sunflower, pond & coral}.

** P.S. I was SO nervous about washing it … worried that the lovely coral would bleed onto the white. It came out beautifully … a testimony to using quality fabrics for your projects. **

The remaining fabrics have all been put to use … from embroidery hoop wall to tiny fabric birds for a mobile.

I can’t wait to share the rest of the nursery with you {and pictures of my GREAT niece} in coming weeks. There are so many sweet details and lots of handmade love.
