A spoonful of sugar …

… helps the medicine go down.

Or in this case a spoonful of {sewing for Blog} Sugar helps the medicine {not getting to go} go down.

I SO wanted to attend Blog Sugar. My heart was there and knew that this would be a ‘perfect’ first blog conference/event for little ol’ me. However as much as my heart knew I would get along well there, I didn’t feel a peace about it. Some things are just not the right timing or the right season. I get this, really I do, I think that God’s primary works in me the last 7 years have been patience and trust.

So you know what He dropped in my lap instead? The gift of creating speaker gifts for the wonderful, amazing, lovely women who would be sharing their hearts at Blog Sugar. I was so touched when Rachel contacted me and knew that this would be such a blessing for me and I prayed a blessing to each of these ladies as well.

I started first by trying to get a feel for those women {and blogs} I wasn’t as familiar with so that their gift would be as unique to them as I could make it. I looked at their style, their color choices, I read their words to try to get to know them. Then I started to plan and create and sew. I prayed for each of them as I put created their gift. I prayed for peace, for strength, for good health … but most of all for *just the right words* that the attendees needed to hear. To fill them up.

This is what I came up with::

Rachel {No. 17}

Andrea {Four Flights of Fancy}

Heather {Life Made Lovely}

Jeannette {Life re-Arranged}

Jen {The Blah Blah Blahger}

Julie {Joy’s Hope}

Laura {Ascot Friday}

Lindsey {The Pleated Poppy}

Maggie {Gussy Sews}

Meg {whatever}

Nish {The Outdoor Wife}

Sarah {Sarah Markley

Thank you Rachel for allowing me to ‘taste’ a bit of Blog Sugar. I’ll be praying my way to next years event!!

Psalm 34:8 “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”

  10. Oh Andrea, these are amazing!!!!!!!! Unless I missed a post on these somewhere Im sad that this is the only publicity these’ve been given. Each one is a true work of art.
    Its totally possible that Ive just missed them somehow as I havent had a ton of time to be blogging and reading blogs with my new teaching job.
    But I was at BlogSugar and kept thinking you were going to be there. I wish we could’ve met in person but I totally understand(and honor and appreciate your decision). Your obedience to God’s timing is admirable! Maybe next year?:)
    xo,
    Sarah
