Sample Sewing

Well, as I just shipped samples off to Robert Kaufman for Quilt Market, I thought I would show you what I sewed up for them for the L.A. Textile Show earlier this month.

Kwik Sew {Pattern #3604} PJ Set

{Organic Cotton:: Caleb Gray for Robert Kaufman, Robot FactoryShirt Fabric / Pants Fabric}

**Oh how I loved this set and wanted to keep it for my little. I might have to make his Christmas jammies out this material. SO cute, er cool.**

{2} Kwik Sew {Pattern #3905} Dresses

{Organic Cotton:: Laurie Wisbrun for Robert Kaufman, Modern Whimsy}

{Organic Cotton:: Nancy Mims for Robert Kaufman, Chick Chick}

{2} Oliver+S {School Photo Dress}

{Robert Kaufman Kiwi for Cool Cords}

{Robert Kaufman Lime by Ann Kelle for Cool Cords}

**Oliver+S patterns are not for the faint of heart. They require much patience. The end result though is a beautiful garment with lasting quality and a great attention to detail. This dress features a ‘pass through’ pocket, wide cuffs on the sleeves, full lining and an invisible zipper. All making it stand out as a one of a kind piece. The fabric selected is perfect for a fall/winter weight dress. The fine whale is so soft to the touch, but adds that great texture and pattern perfect this time of year.**

{7} Betz White {Reversible Bucket Hat}

{Organic Cotton:: Betz White for Robert Kaufman, Stitch}

Sewing samples can be stressful if you don’t plan right. There is usually a quick 1-2 week turnaround and the fall shows fall right when I *should be* sewing for the upcoming holidays. Having a couple years under my belt now, I know to schedule my calendar around the trade shows. It does mean limiting custom orders and the holiday stock taking a temporary back seat … but I love the challenge of creating different pieces and I love the relationship I have with Robert Kaufman.

And … the great thing for YOU is that I have a lot of left over fabric that I love to share. Stay tuned …
