{Sweetheart} Baby Shower

I mentioned I was prepping {and showed a sneak of the invites on an Insta-Friday} for a baby shower last weekend and while I don’t have the best {or very many} pictures, I wanted to share it with you.

{Note to self: assign someone to take photos next time … this is an ongoing issue for me … will I ever learn?}

This shower was put together, not last minute {that sounds like it wasn’t planned}, but in a short time frame which meant I had to be clever with my ideas and not bite off more than I could chew.

I decided on a ‘sweetheart’ theme knowing that there would be an abundance of red, pink and hearts available at a great cost this time of year. Thank goodness for a little girl … I don’t think I could have pulled off a ‘sweetheart’ shower for a baby boy!

The invitations were simple. I layered the wording on patterened cardstock and then backed with kraft cardstock. I embellished with a small doily {cut in half and folded into a triangle} and heart {cut on my Silhouette} which I stitched into place with my sewing machine.

The decor focused around my already decorated mantle {whoo-hoo} and a few added touches with balloons, paper garland and a valentine banner {not pictured}. We {as in I recruited several co-hosts … more hands make light work??} also filled the bottom of aqua mason jars with sugar and popped in a tea light. To the outside we layered a doily & paper hearts and wrapped it up with twine.
