Oh Snap!

Creative, I know.

However, I will say that LONG before I knew I would be attending the Snap! Conference in April of 2012, I introduced a new item to the Knitty Bitties shop … the Oh Snap! Mini Wallet. It’s been one of my best sellers and I’m happy to say it’s making it’s ‘makeover’ debut at the Snap! conference.

So yes … if you hadn’t already figured it out, I’m attending the Snap! Conference that is all a buzz around the blog world. It’s my first blog conference and I’d be lying if I said I was anything but nervous and excited. It’s close{ish} proximity {easy driving distance} and list of wonderful speakers {several of whom I’ve sponsored} is what made me take the plunge.

Oh that and a ‘little’ thing called the Queen Bee Market. I’ve wanted to participate in this market since I first heard about it several years ago. But getting to southern California with all my gear was proving to be a bit of a financial challenge. So imagine my extra delight when I found out that not only could I attend this great conference {in a beautiful location … in the spring with tulips blooming}, but I could also participate in the market. You can see a list of all the vendors by clicking on the image.

So, I’ve been sewing as much as I can and trying not to sacrifice my time with my family. It’s hasn’t been easy and I’m sure when I show up at the market, I will be under stocked in comparison to others. But comparison is the thief of joy and I will not let it steal mine. I am a person {not a robot or machine} and I wear a lot of different hats. Seamstress and business owner are only two of them. I’ve done as much as I can {or can do up until I leave} and have to just enjoy the journey, right?

Shop Announcement::
I will closing the shop starting this coming Monday, April 16th and will not be opening it again until Friday, April 27th. This will allow me to take all of my inventory with me to the QBM and time to photograph and list all the remaining items when I return. In one sense I hope I sell out at the market, because well that would be a great affirmation of my product and all my hard work, but on the other sense, I’d love to have plenty left to have a well stocked shop when I return. So again, I’m trying to not worry about that and leaving it in His hands.

Lastly, the thing I will struggle most with at this conference is stepping outside my introvert self and meeting wonderful people. I know this will probably be the best thing to come from the conference, but it’s going to take work on my part ;). So, I’d love for you to come up to me and introduce yourself … trust me, I’ll be as shy, awkward and self-consciene as any other gal ;). From some of the tweets I’ve read, I kinda feel like this may be a step back to high school and all about what you look like. I sure hope not though, because I know your creativity comes from the inside so the rest should be second fiddle. At least that’s what I’m hoping because I have yet to worry about what I’m wearing or what my weight will be at the conference.

Oh and just so you know what I look like … well stay tuned for a post later this week where I share some fun photos I had taken for this and other blogs I contribute on … I had ZERO decent pictures of just me.
