Facebook Makeover

It finally happened!
Making over my Facebook page has been on my to-do list for a long time. Even before Facebook switched all pages to the new Timeline feature.
But I just kept dragging my feet.
I finally carved out the time to JUST DO IT when I gained so many new ‘likes’ recently.

I figure with all these new guests I better spiff the place up a little.

In case you haven’t been by there

Whaaa-laaa!

I used one of the FREE Timeline Cover Templates by Paint the Moon Photoshop Actions and Photography Tools to create my cover photo. I wanted something simple to that showcased some of my favorite items from my shop. I love the way it turned out!

To create my custom tabs, I followed the directions in this post, Primp Your Facebook Page, by Her New Leaf. I created my own tab images, but she offers some very cute freebies you could easily use.

One thing that had me initially confused was installing the apps for my custom tabs. Facebook kept forcing me to switch back to my personal log in {verses my business page} which made me worry that the apps wouldn’t end up in the right spot. Well after fighting this and reading techie post after techie post I decided to just see what happened. Gah! I could have saved a lot of time … while everything has to go through your personal sign in, you can direct the apps to specific business pages. It all worked out!

All in all I think it took me about 3 hours {which could have probably been 2 had I not been fighting the system}. Coding and copying and pasting and sitting in front of the PC for 3 hours is SO not my favorite thing to do, but I’m so glad this is done. It’s so much nicer from my end … I hope you feel the same!

  1. New page looks great. I just went there and liked it!

  2. I’m so glad you posted this. I have been on FB for a few years now but recently came back on to promote the etsy shop and was completly overwhelemed and confused. Tonight I’m going to sit and read through all this again, look at the links and hopefully greet the FB world with a fresh face! Thanks doll!

  3. It looks so good! Well done!
