Farmer’s Wife {for the Home} Blog Collaboration

A year and a half ago I hosted a blog collaboration with six other bloggers. The idea was to take the same set of materials and create six {seven including mine} unique projects. It was SO fun to see how differently each blogger approached the project. I knew I wanted to do another collaboration in 2012.

Fast forward to late 2011 and I started to see quite the buzz around the blogging/sewing world about “The Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along.” I was instantly intrigued and inspired to join in {and even bought the book} … the problem was, it was fall & back-to-school & prep the shop for the holidays time. I knew I just didn’t have time and if I was being honest with myself {which I try to be every now and then} I knew I would probably never complete a quilt from the blocks. And so the idea hung out in the archives of the inspiration section of my brain.

Until it popped up again with the idea of another blog collaboration focused on ‘smaller’ more attainable projects created using the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt blocks. It was from this brainstorming that the “Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along for the Home” blog collaboration was put into motion.

I’ve gathered a fabulously talented {and wonderfully sweet} set of bloggers::

I secured an amazing sponsor::

Don’t miss a single day next week as each blogger’s project is introduced. Each blogger was sent a charm pack of the New Kona Cotton Solids along with two larger solid cuts of Kona Cotton to create a Farmer’s Wife quilt block{s} and turn it into something for the home!

Now it’s time to BE INSPIRED …
If that isn’t reason enough to come by … EACH blogger will be giving away their project!! In addition, Robert Kaufman will be giving away TWO charm packs of their New Kona Cotton Solids.
Are you excited??
I hope so!
See you Monday!

  8. sounds like a great idea. I made a similar type project many years ago (72 3″ blocks), so while I love seeing what others are doing with these blocks, I’ve had no desire to make another quilt like this. I’ll be interested to see what you all do with these!

  9. Oh, this sounds just perfect!!! I love, love, love smaller projects that I can use in my home and also give away to friends and family. Looking forward to next week and lots of inspriation!!!
