Oh so charming …

Happy Labor Day!
I hope that in some way, each of you is getting to enjoy a little rest from your regular routine today.

I’ve been lucky enough to sneak away to my best friend’s house for the long weekend to *babysit* her and her two kiddos while her husband is out of town. If all goes as planned, today I’ll be teaching her how to can peach jam. Yum!

As much as I’m enjoying my time away, I’m also itching to get back to my studio and SEW. I haven’t gotten in nearly enough sewing this summer and I.miss.it.so. Sewing for the shop and sewing for me.

This fabric, sent to me by my wonderful new blog sponsor, Southern Fabric, is inspiring me to start a new “me” project …

I love charm packs. They’re so cute and little and really perfect for a variety of quick weekend projects. Which is perfect for me, since I usually try not to sew for the shop on the weekend …
I can sneak in a ‘me’ project.

I also love the variety of prints you get in a charm pack without having to spend a lot of money {charm packs are usually under $10}.
A lot of patterns have been designed specifically for charm packs.
Here are three great {free} quilt patterns using a charm pack in three different ways::

One of my favorite fabric/pattern designers is Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms
Not only does she design LOVELY fabric {Marmalade was designed by her and her mom, Bonnie}, but she has a love of ‘pre-cuts’ and designs her patterns {and a book} around them.
Just Swell {Sewing Machine Cover & Pincushions}
Wild Thing {Quilt}
Merry {Stockings}
Have I got you excited about charm packs? Or maybe added a new project to your sewing list?
Go check out Southern Fabric’s wonderful selection of pre-cuts as well as fabric by the yard.

Right now you can get a great deal {30% off} on Aneela Hoey’s adorable Little Apples line for Moda, as well as several others on sale.

  1. Love that Marmalade! So so pretty. I’ve been searching for that line in the mini-charm pack, but my shops don’t have it in yet. I’ll have to check out your new sponsor :)
