HELLO Fancy That Design House & Co / Ike & Co

Hello … Fancy That Design House & Co.

How Fancy That Design House & Co came to be …
My degree in Art and Graphic Communication led me to a job where I spent a number of years designing apparel graphics for a variety of national retailers. While I had a creative position at work, I still loved having a creative outlet outside of the office. A few years back, my husband and I bought a letterpress from a sweet older couple that quickly showed us the ins and outs of it and we headed home with our 1000+ pound letterpress & started Fancy That Letterpress Co.
{8×10 May Your Days Be Merry & Bright – Colorful Knit Pattern Poster Print}

A couple years later, the letterpress company evolved into Fancy That Design House & Co., to incorporate more than just letterpress goods.  My passion is creating graphics that creatively display scripture while incorporating my love of color, trends, texture and typography. I am daily blessed by the wonderful people I have met through having the Etsy shop and I’ve learned that designing prints based on Bible verses is a wonderful way to study and memorize scripture.

A little more about Stephanie …

Favorite Christmas Album/Song
My favorite Christmas album has to be the ever so classic Bing Crosby’s “Merry Christmas” and my all time favorite Christmas song is “Oh, Holy Night”

Favorite Holiday Treat
I’m huge fan of treats in any shape and form! We have a tradition of making Cinnamon and Sugar Roasted Almonds as gifts to neighbors and family. I also can not pass up homemade caramels.

Favorite Holiday Color Combination
I love reds/blues/silvers…and anything with a vintage patina. I’m always drawn to old, aged glass ornaments.

Thank you for sponsoring Stephanie … I am SMITTEN with your designs!

Guest post by Angie of Ike & Co:

My husband works really hard every year making a holiday mix CD for his parents.  It becomes a borderline obsession for the three days leading up to Thanksgiving (which is when the CD is given) and we sample A LOT of holiday music during that time.  This year, he feels like he may have put together the perfect mix…

Winter Wonderland {Jason Mraz}
Coventry Carol {Sufjan Stevens}
I Saw Three Ships {Barenaked Ladies}
Sleigh Ride {Fun.}
The Christmas Song {Paul McCartney}
You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch {The Brian Setzer Orchestra}
Things We Don’t Need Anymore {Jenny Owen Youngs}
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas {Sister Hazel}
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee {Carly Pearce}
Do They Know It’s Christmas {Barenaked Ladies}
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen {Straight No Chaser}
In the Bleak Midwinter {Jill Phillips & Andy Gullahorn}
Merry Christmas, Baby {Rod Stewart}
O Come, O Come Emmanuel {Punch Brothers}
Angels We Have Heard On High {Indigo Girls}
Let There Be Peace on Earth {Harry Conick, Jr}
Christmas Canon {Trans-Siberian Orchestra}
Go Tell It On the Mountain {The Lower Lights}
What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve {The Head and the Heart}

…and that is pretty much what we have been listening too, nonstop, around our house.  My favorites on the list are Christmas Canon (if you haven’t heard it, head over to itunes, immediately!) and the Rod Stewart number.  Because he’s my man.  Seriously.  I swoon over him.

I am so glad that my husband does this every year.  I hope that it becomes something that our children will do for us one day.

Thank you for this wonderful play list Angie {and Mr. Ike & Co} … I can‘t wait to download some new Christmas tunes!

  1. Such pretty stuff from both ladies! I’ve just recently heard of Fancy That Design House & Co. but I really like her stuff. I think the Zephaniah print would be so great in my boys’ room!
