Christmas Crafty {Re-Cap}

Because I’m not ready to talk about resolutions or goals or the likes for 2013 …

Because it is still very much “Christmas” at my house, I’m going to stick with holiday posts for a few more days, okay?

Mid-December I posted about a handful of ‘crafts’ I hoped to get done before Christmas and here is where I post on how successful I was::

Sugar Snow Globes – SUCCESS

These were SO quick and easy. We ended up making 4 of them all together. I did two with my Niece-in-law and two with my Little.

A few notes:

  • Use E-6000 glue to glue your pieces to the lid of your jar {let them dry overnight before adding sugar and sealing the rim/lid}. I did hot glue on the first two and it did not hold after a week or so {yet the E-6000 I used around the rim of the jar to seal it DID work … which led to me having to break the jars to get the pieces out}.
  • The wider the lid, the more details you can add.
  • I bought both the trees and deer at Hobby Lobby in their dollhouse section.

Happy Holidays felt garland – SUCCESS

This was such a fun project. I ended up taking it for my ‘ornament/decoration’ exchange with my Bunko group. I purchased my felt from the fabulous Benzie Bazaar. One of my Julep boxes made the perfect wrapping {I up-cycled the ribbon, crinkle paper & polka dot bag. My monthly maven box from Julep is a party in itself!}. I included the small clothespins and {2} twine for hanging.

Here is where it ended up::

So cute, right? It now lives at Kelly’s home and I love it!

Book Page Paper Chain – SUCCESS

This is really hard to get a good picture of since it’s around my kitchen window. I love, love, love this super simple craft and plan to keep it up through January and then maybe switch to this heart version in February.

I ran out of time for the Vintage Spool Garland & Twine Snowman … I figure 3 out of 5 isn’t bad at all and considering I also knocked out some handmade gifts {yep, that post is coming}.

Did you craft this holiday season? What was your favorite?

  1. Love all the craftiness! That paper chain garland with the twinkle lights is beautiful! Happy 2013 to you!

  2. I’m so happy that garland came home with me! I love it! (sorry Megan!)
