Love is in the air …

… and this year I’m not going to let it sneak right past me. Which is typically what happens. Sandwiched so close behind Christmas and just days before my Little’s birthday … well it often is a last minute scramble. I know some would be happy if the whole ‘mass marketed retail holiday’ would go by the way side, but I for one love it.

Not so much in the overly romantic once-a-year gesture from my lovah … no I like little romantic all-through-the-year gestures from him. No to me Valentine’s day is just one of those FUN days to celebrate LOVE. Those that you love, those that love you … just share the love people! It doesn’t have to be anything grand … but thick frosted sugar cookies, paper cards & doilies?!? What’s not to love about that?!?

Okay … on with the post. Being that it is THREE weeks until the big LOVE day, I thought I would share the craft/DIY pins topping my list of want-to’s. For the full effect, go check out my Ideas for Valentine’s Day board. Just looking at it makes me swoon.

{In no particular order.}

DIY Valentine Treat Bags // Twig & Thistle

I’ve wanted to print these bags the last two years. This year it is happening and I know just the cookie I’m going to bake {then wrap with parchment, doily & bakers twine} and put inside. I can’t wait to do a little hand delivering to people I love.

Paper Heart Garland // Ellinee

I can’t find the original source for the book paper hearts shown in the above pin, but I did link to a tutorial on Ellinee’s blog. I’m going to replace the book paper chain over our kitchen window with these hearts. And of course, I’ll be keeping up the white twinkly lights … after all, I love them too.

Paper Heart Mason Jar Candle // i love this

So cute, so easy and costs almost nothing! Love! These will go on my mantle … which I can’t wait to show you in about a week!

Love birds frame //Desire Empire

I’m taking inspiration from this and going to cut l-o-v-e out of felt and maybe some bird silhouettes to use on my mantle display.

Conversation Heart Printable // Sugar Dot Designs on i heart naptime

These will go on my mantle or my sofa table.

Simple Valentine’s Bunting // Simple as That

Quite possibly my favorite craft. You might remember I did a simple St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween bunting in the same manner. I’m addicted. In fact … I have a special post coming Monday all about this bunting.

Conversation Hearts w/ Bible Verses // Creative Ladies Ministry

I just stumbled on this one and can’t wait to make these for my Sunday School kiddos. What a fun idea!

I think what I love most about all of these is that none of them take a lot of time or money … and yet they all make a sweet impact on the people that receive them.

The shop is also getting in on the lovey-dovey with some Valentine items::

Tea Towel Sets // Mug Rugs & Coffee Coats are on their way!

Oh and a new camera strap slipcover was released this week … Love Spun.

I know, it’s true … I’ve been bitten {hard} by the love bug this year!

  1. I made the twig and thistle bags a couple years ago and got rave results! The printer and I fought a couple times, but it eventually worked! And I LOVE the bike pattern on the new slipcover! So cute!

  2. So many cute ideas and so little time (so I say). The bunting/banners are my fave.

  3. LOVE these! I just finished making the jars. thank yo so much for posting!
