Tidbits on Tuesday …

A few tidbits that have nothing to do with each other other than I want to share them with YOU.

I am thrilled to announce that not only am I going to be going to Sewing Summit 2013, I am going to be a teacher!! I know … get out of town! I’m teaching a class on mug rugs {which I laaaaa-love sewing} and while I’m a wee bit skeered about the teaching part, I’m equally excited and challenged and can’t wait. I’m already making a list of goodies to hand out to my pupils!

Now, registration opens TODAY at 10AM MST. If you are even remotely thinking about attending, I would grab a ticket as this conference sells out FAST. Like within hours fast. Then let me know you’re coming!

I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to share the lovely goodies I received from Jamie of Raising Up Rubies / Sugar ‘n Spice. We did a little swap-a-roo and I’m pretty sure I got the better end of that deal.

When Jamie asked me what I wanted from her shop, I knew I wanted one of her adorable mason jar banners for my kitchen. Remember this winter when I made a book page paper chain and added white lights above my sink? Well, I just couldn’t part with the white lights, but needed a new ‘look’ to carry them through the spring and summer. So I asked her to make a banner in my kitchen colors {red, cobalt and a splash of aqua} that said …

Oh Happy Day!
Well not only did she make me the most fabulous banner {it’s a perfect fit in our kitchen} but she included all these other lovelies wrapped up in love.
I mentioned yesterday that Sugar ‘n Spice just re-opened yesterday with all new inventory … including “Oh Happy Day” banners.
I want to end this post with the verse {from my Small Squares with Mighty Words} I had displayed yesterday when I read the news about the Boston marathon::
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate from us the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:38-39

  1. Eep! I love that banner! Now that I will have a window over my kitchen sink I think I may need to mimic your window. What a great verse for such a tragic day; it is so hard to understand why these things happen, but I’m happy we’re not in it alone. You’re going to be phenomenal at Sewing Summit- if only I could go and, eh hem, sew :)
