Friday Favorites // Five Things

So … I intended to post this last week and I was going to be all ‘whoop whoop’ I posted three times in one week.

Pride cometh before the fall.

Then this week hit and I don’t know what to blame it on, but I have been in a F-U-N-K. Just one of those weeks where everything felt off and harder than it should. But Thursday righted me right side up and I feel like I’m going to start Friday on the right foot for a great weekend.

Okay, a few of these are a little dated, but seeing as how I was barely blogging this summer … bare with me, okay?

Target Boyfriend V Tee
I bought two of these t-shirts early in the summer season and quickly fell in love with the casual fit and style. In fact, I liked them so much I went and bought two more. I think they’ll transition perfectly into fall with the addition of a scarf and cardigan.

Steven Smith Tea – No. 55 Lord Bergamont
I discovered this gem while in Oregon this summer. I kept seeing restaurants “featuring Steven Smith Tea” so I looked it up and of course, the graphic design hooked me enough to give it a try. This deliciously rich (but not overpowering) version of early gray is worthy of the heavier price tag in my black tea loving opinion.

Pandora’s The Piano Guys Radio
Thanks to a friend’s recent Instagram post, I plugged this station into my Pandora account.
Do you want to know what’s fun … trying to name the instrumental version of your favorite pop songs. Or maybe you have a more sophisticated ear then me … in which case you probably won’t be able to pick out the Rhianna songs.

AVEENO Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash
I was in need of new body wash and my go-to is Trader Joe’s grapefruit body wash. However, when TJ’s is out of said body wash, you end up back at Target searching the aisles. I was about ready to spend almost $12 on some ‘fancy’ I can’t even remember what brand right now when good ol’ Cartwheel sent me looking at Aveeno which was a whopping 15% off. I figured I couldn’t go wrong ending my day with a little nourishment and calm. This stuff smells SO good. I’m not kidding when I say I just stand in the hot shower and literally smell it for a good 3 minutes before I actually use it.

Against All Grain
Coming off of my June Whole30 experience {which I still need to blog about} I was excited to try a few grain free recipes that were healthier versions of their grain counterparts. Not that grains aren’t healthy. Please let’s not get into that debate. I was just curious if these lower carb and higher protein versions would be worthy of the extra effort and cost. Also, this website is just beautiful … you just want to go hang out and look at all the pretty photos of food.

Below are the recipes I’ve tried so far and have loved them.
The muffins were a HUGE hit at a park playdate by both mamas and kiddos. The chocolate chip cookies never last more than a day and a half and the smoothie is crazy good and filling and on a Friday morning, makes you feel like you’re having a  chocolate shake for breakfast.

There you have it. A random list of five favorites right now.

Happy Friday!

That body wash sounds divine. I love Aveeno lotion, so I’ll have to take a look at their body wash next time I’m shopping for it.
