Twinkle Twinkle // Baby “Charlie” Quilt

I always feel the need to give an explanation after I’ve been absent from my blog for weeks at a time. Do you feel that way? Or maybe you’re one of those that has a fancy little blog schedule and you actually keep it. Clearly, despite ideas constantly running through my head & thoughts of “I need to blog that,” I can not keep a reliable schedule. So while I’ve pretty much made peace with that, I still can’t get over feeling like I need to tell you why I’ve been away.

So, in this case, I’ll keep it brief::
Sewing // Every kind of sewing
Church Ladies Retreat // Planning Committee
Halloween // Trunk or Treat
Baby Shower // “Charlie Brown” inspired

Today I’m excited to share one of two baby quilts I stitched up for little baby boys joining our family + friends.

Twinkle, Twinkle
Quilt Pattern by: City Stitches / Quick-Sew Baby Quilt Club

This quilt is for my soon-to-arrive great-nephew, Charles {aka baby “Charlie”}.

His nursery is a bit of a patriotic / Americana theme so I knew the star block would be a perfect fit. I stuck with a pretty traditional red/white/blue pallet but threw in a pop of aqua + kept the background white for a modern quilt.

The front is all Kona Cottons and the back/binding is Essex {both by Robert Kaufman.

I quilted several rows around each star.

Did you spot my mistake?
I layed out my blocks wrong and two of my starts are a little cozier than the pattern design … I”m hoping Charlie won’t notice!

I won’t make any promises, but I do have three posts drafted and ready for a full week of blogging next week! Wish my luck!
